How do I know what I need for my first appointment?

If you are looking to completely change your look, or you are unsure and want to discuss all of your options, we recommend scheduling a consultation before your first appointment. During your consultation, your stylist will help you determine the best services for your hair type and texture. You can schedule an appointment during the consultation. You can also fill out our online consultation form and we will contact you within 1-2 business days. (Please know, we might still request an in-person consultation.)

Will my pre-consultation fee go towards my service?

Yes, the $25 pre-consultation fee will be applied to your service when you book with your Stylist at time of consultation.

Hair Color FAQ

How long will my highlights last?

Even though our highlights are usually done with permanent color, eventually they will grow out within 5 to 8 weeks. We recommend having your highlights touched up every 8 to 10 weeks. To keep your highlights looking fresh between services we recommend coming in every 4 weeks for a color gloss and blow dry.

Why do you need to know about my past chemical services or hair treatments?

Previous color services or chemical treatments may impact color results and the health of your hair. As a rule, it's always best to wait two weeks between treatments to ensure zero impact on hair health and flawless color results.

Permanent Color  vs Temporary color vs Demi-Perm Hair Color?

While they sound a lot alike, there's a distinct difference between each kind of hair color. Here's a crash course: Temporary color is exactly as it sounds, temporary. The color sits on top of the hair cuticle and is washed away with water or shampoo. Think sprays and hair chalk. Semi – permanent hair color is applied directly to the hair and processed for 20 to 30 minutes. The results gradually fade overtime and generally last for 7 to 10 shampoos. Think vivid hair colors. Demi – permanent hair color limits the amount of color change, so the results are long-lasting but not necessarily permanent. Demi- Permanent color is great for glossing/toning the hair. Permanent hair color removes some of the hairs natural pigment molecules and deposits the desired color molecules which changes the color of the hair permanently.

Hair Extensions FAQ

Why do I need to have a credit card on file? â€‹

As a client, having your card on file is great for future appointments and easy payment at checkout.  As per our cancelation policy and a courtesy to our Stylists, If you fail to call and cancel and you do not show up for your appointment, you will incur a charge of 95% of the service cost to the card on file. The livelihood of each Stylist at Hair Society Salon and Color Bar is very important to the company. Though we understand that things come up, this policy protects our stylists so that they are still able to financially provide for themselves and their family.

How far in advance should I book my appointment?

To ensure that your get the date and time that you need, we recommend booking your next appointment before you leave our salon. For first time clients we recommend booking your appointment at least a week or two in advance especially  if you have specific days and times that work best. For guests who are more flexible, we may be able to arrange same-day appointments.

I am really interested in hair extensions. What is my first step?

If you are thinking about getting hair extensions, schedule an appointment for a complimentary consultation. This will give your stylist the opportunity to go over any questions or concerns you may have and determine what will work best. All of our hair extensions are customized for each of our guests, so we cannot quote prices over the phone.

Haircut/ Style FAQ

How do I know what conditioning treatment I will need?

Our Stylists are trained to customize your treatment and target your hair needs. We offer top of the line salon products and conditioning treatments to maintain the health and integrity of your hair. These treatments will leave your hair feeling incredible!

Do you allow children in the salon?

Children 13 and up are welcome as long as they are scheduled for a service. We understand that bringing your children to the salon during your service may be convenient or even necessary at times, but at Hair Society Salon we feel that children who attend their parents’ appointments pose a safety issue. We work with sharp scissors, hot tools, chemicals, and other equipment in the salon and do not have an area designated for children, nor do we have staff that can supervise them while you receive your service. If something were to happen to your child at our salon, it would be devastating to you and your family, as well as ours. For this reason, we ask that parents visit our salon without their children unless the child (13 or older) has an appointment. During their appointment, the child must be accompanied by their parent at all times and be able to sit still to receive their service safely. Please understand that our primary  concern is for the safety of your child, for other guests, and for our staff. We have the utmost respect for our parent clients as some of our staff are parents themselves, so we know that this may be an inconvenience. Thank you for understanding!

How should I come before an updo/style appointment?

Come to your appointment with clean, blow-dried hair. Our staff will be happy to book you a consultation and assist you with any questions before your appointment.
